Ichendorf Desert Plants jug green cactus with pink flower

At first glance, the Ichendorf Desert Plants Jug with Cactus surprises with its playful soul and refined technique. Designed by Alessandra Baldereschi, this jug transforms the image of a cactus into a delicate presence sculpted in borosilicate glass. The handmade process highlights the fragility and resilience of the material, creating a contrast with the strength and symbolism of desert flora.

The design story

The Ichendorf Desert Plants collection is an ode to nature’s ability to thrive in the harshest environments. In this jug, the cactus becomes a decorative motif and a functional detail, lending the object both narrative and utility. Each curve of the jug is shaped to ensure ergonomic use, while the glass itself carries an aura of lightness. Dishwasher safe at low temperatures, the piece maintains its practicality without compromising its collectible value.

From tableware to storytelling

Beyond its function as a pitcher, the cactus glass jug plays with light, refracting reflections that mimic desert sun rays. It becomes a centerpiece in everyday life: serving water, fresh juices, or cocktails with a visual twist. The jug’s design resonates with those who appreciate objects capable of telling a story, turning daily gestures into rituals of style.

Completing the atmosphere

The Desert Plants jug integrates seamlessly with the Ichendorf Botanica collection, Ichendorf pitchers and jugs, Ichendorf teapots, and Ichendorf cups and mugs. Together they create a landscape where nature, design, and function coexist. This piece appeals to design collectors, nature enthusiasts, and lovers of contemporary Italian glassware, embodying the refined creativity of Ichendorf Milano and the distinctive imagination of Alessandra Baldereschi.
